Eureka College

Location: Eureka, IL. (Small town about twenty minutes from Peoria, IL.)

Description: Liberal Arts College, established 1855.

Notable Facts and Trivia: Alma Mater of President Ronald Reagan. He graduated in 1932 from Eureka College with a B.A. in Sociology and Economics. Two buildings are on National Register of Historic Places.
Cost: Tuition: $17,500. Room and Board:

Financial Aid: A+.

CLEP: All exams accepted for credit.

Overall Communication: Very good. Regular mailings/e-mails. Costs are listed on the materials.

Application Communication: Excellent! Once I began applying, I received a letter telling me what they had received and what they still needed which was very helpful.

Library review: A+.

Downside of Greek Life?: Yes.


Residency Policy Grade: C+.

Why: To live off-campus one must be: married, or over age 23, or live with parents within 50 miles, or be employed on campus.

Visit Review: Lovely campus, red brick buildings and nice trees, lots of squirrels. Arranged for individual visit with overview, campus tour, and visit with professor. Staff and faculty were extremely accommodating and kind. Great communication before visit and after as well.

Admissions Counselors: A+.

Staff and Faculty: Very nice, almost always cheerful.


Hidden Fees: Campus Access Fee, Convenience fee for using credit card.


Overall Grade: A-.
